Terms of service

Welcome to Seeld. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) apply to your use of seeld.co.za (the “Website”) and to any purchase you make from Seeld (“we”, “us” or “our”). By using the Website or placing an order, you agree to these Terms. Please read them together with our Privacy Policy, Return and Refund Policy and Shipping Policy, which form part of these Terms.

1. About us
Seeld is an online store based in South Africa selling electric mason jar vacuum sealers and accessories. You can contact us at hello@seeld.co.za.

2. Who can buy
You must be at least 18 years old, or have permission from a parent or guardian, to place an order. You agree that the information you provide when ordering is true, accurate and complete.

3. Products
We try to show our products as accurately as possible, including descriptions, images and colours. Small differences may occur, for example in how colours appear on your screen. Product images are for illustration. All products are subject to availability, and we may limit quantities or discontinue products at any time.

4. Prices and payment

• All prices are in South African Rand (ZAR).
• Delivery fees are shown at checkout before you pay.
• Payments are processed securely by our third-party payment provider. We do not see or store your full card details.
• We may change prices at any time, but changes will not affect orders you have already paid for.
• If a product is listed at an obviously incorrect price because of an error, we may cancel the order and refund you in full. We will let you know before doing so.

5. Orders
When you place an order, you will receive an email confirming that we have received it. Your order is accepted once payment has been received and confirmed. We may decline or cancel an order, for example, if a product is out of stock, if we suspect fraud, or if there is an error in the order. If this happens after you have paid, we will refund you in full.

6. Discount codes
Discount codes are subject to their stated conditions, can only be used once per customer unless stated otherwise, have no cash value, and cannot be applied to orders that have already been placed. We may withdraw a discount code at any time.

7. Delivery
Delivery is handled as described in our Shipping Policy. Delivery times are estimates. Ownership of and risk in the products passes to you once they have been delivered to the address you provided.

8. Cooling-off period, returns and warranty
You have the right to cancel within 7 days of receiving your order under section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, and products carry the 6-month warranty of quality under the Consumer Protection Act. Full details are in our Return and Refund Policy.

9. Using our products safely
Please read and follow the instructions supplied with your Seeld. Use it only for its intended purpose: vacuum sealing compatible mason jars and containers. Vacuum sealing helps food stay fresh for longer, but it does not replace refrigeration, freezing or safe food-handling practices. Always store perishable food as recommended.

10. Intellectual property
All content on the Website, including the Seeld name, logo, text, images and design, belongs to Seeld or its licensors. You may not copy, reproduce or use it for commercial purposes without our written permission.

11. Use of the Website
You agree not to misuse the Website, including by trying to gain unauthorised access, introducing viruses or harmful code, interfering with its operation, or using it for any unlawful or fraudulent purpose.

12. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the Website or our products, and our total liability for any claim relating to an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act or other law that cannot be limited or excluded.

13. Events beyond our control
We are not responsible for delays or failure to perform caused by events beyond our reasonable control, such as courier delays, strikes, load shedding, natural disasters or supplier problems. We will keep you informed and do our best to minimise the impact.

14. Third-party services and links
Our Website may link to third-party services such as our payment provider, courier tracking pages and our Facebook and Instagram pages. We are not responsible for their content or practices.

15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The version on the Website when you place your order applies to that order.

16. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any dispute will be handled by the competent courts of South Africa, without affecting your right to approach the National Consumer Commission, a consumer court or an ombud.
